Summer Love

Seven things we love this summer: 1. Anything nautical (especially when it's edible, like Eleni's summer collection); 2. Mini Klean Kanteens; 3. Paper products by O-check Design;  4. Pastel Vintage radio's; 5. Fifi Lapin's inspired summer looks; 6. Escaping to the seaside (even if it's only through Kate Spade calendar illustrations) and 7. Afternoon naps on gorgeous Mimou cushions.

To celebrate Friday: a beautiful typeface created by Mash for their client Michell ... isn't it just lovely? I love the hairline stroke and the unexpected curves and ... well... everything. Have a great weekend!

Lucinda Rogers
6.21.2010

I've been a big fan of Lucinda Rogers for some time. I could while away many an hour standing in front of her incredibly intricate large scale illustrations absorbed in the stories they tell about our beautiful cities and the people who live in them. I love the fact that she'll sit in the middle of a busy street quietly capturing the hustle and bustle of the world around her...

The high life
6.15.2010

I love these paintings of The Mark Hotel by Frenchman-turned-New-Yorker Jean-Phillipe Delhomme: they perfectly capture that Upper East Side fabulousness that we all know and love. To see more, check out JP's portfolio here or his blog The Unknown Hipster, for a hit of high culture.

Pop Art
6.11.2010

The West Village's Popbar is the new place to be on a hot, sticky afternoon. They've put gelato on a stick, and will dunk it into an assortment of delicious liquids and toppings until you've got your own cold, yummy little piece of art. I love Summer.

A Conran kind of summer
6.06.2010

A few of my favourite things...

Today I visited the new Conran store on the lower level of ABC Carpet and Home and gosh it was fun! It's such a great space and so full of colour and gadgets and beautifully designed pieces. I spent ages just walking around and touching pretty things then left feeling summery and inspired.

Paper styling
6.04.2010

Stuart McLachlan is a pro with scissors! Check out these wonderfully intricate head pieces and props he creates for editorial work (he also creates lovely illustrations and catwalk pieces). What an imagination!

Kat actually blogged about this Fred Bare photo shoot a little while ago and I highly recommend taking a look at the rest of the pics... they take playing 'dress up' to a whole new level.

Lego Candy
6.02.2010

A friend introduced me to Lego candy the other day and before we gobbled them all up, I managed to snap this photo so I could share this wonderful treat with you guys. They come in a range of pretty pastel colours, and I love the fact that you can actually build with them! You can buy enough to create a small town on Amazon, but if anyone knows where you can buy them in smaller quantities, please let me know...
